Our Little Family
I never thought I’d get married. Somewhere God is giggling.
The Weavers, est. June 13, 2009
Bruce managed to shock me when he popped the question. Read about our engagement here.

I joke about the fact that James Taylor helped me fall in love with Bruce. Here is a look back on how we met.
In July 2010, Bruce started his own blog!
Read his fishing, hiking, running, biking, hunting and general outdoor ramblings here.
This is Lilly, my precious four-year-old gray tabby cat. Don’t let her precious face fool you. She gets into a lot of trouble.
Consider yourself forewarned – I blog about her a lot. If you’re not a cat person, don’t worry. I’ve managed to convert a lot of people who’ve said they weren’t cat people. Just give it time.
Bruce and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in August of 2007 so I could attend Emory University’s Master of Divinity program through the Candler School of Theology. I graduated in May 2010 and we stayed in Atlanta so I could complete a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Grady Memorial Hospital the following summer. I spent 11 weeks as a chaplain in a Level 1 trauma hospital (click here to read back on all of my CPE posts).
We spent three-and-a-half years in Atlanta. During that time Bruce discovered his love of sweet tea, I discovered my love of southern hospitality and we both became Braves fans. Don’t tell my Phillies-loving father!
(Turner Field – July 4, 2010)
And we grew up. A lot. We arrived as naive and carefree kids and left as adults who understood a lot more about the world that we live in.
In September of 2010, we made the very difficult decision to leave our friends in Atlanta and move to Connecticut so I could be near my congregation and family while I searched for a church position. And in December, we packed all of our stuff in a truck and started the long journey north.
On December 12, 2010, I defended my ordination papers to the Litchfield North Association of the Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ. I passed and was officially Ordainable Pending Call in the United Church of Christ. My Search & Call process started immediately.
Less than two months after my Ecclesiastical Council, I was offered and accepted a position as the Senior Pastor of Rehoboth Congregational Church in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Here is the announcement and all of the details. This meant that we moved for the second time in less than four months.
I don’t want to talk about it.
Nevertheless, we were (and still are!) thrilled and honored to be welcomed into the Rehoboth community.
On April 10, 2011 I was ordained into the United Church of Christ. It was – by far – one of the most incredible experiences of my entire life.
And that brings us to today! I am trying to find balance in ministry and in ministry and life. Bruce was hired to his dream job in the Fly Fishing Department at the Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA and gets to talk about his hobbies all day long and test new equipment. Lilly is trying to see how high she can make my blood pressure every time she goes to scratch our nice couches. And my friends wonder why I never return their calls.
I kid.
Kind of.
Thank you for journeying with us! They best is yet to come!
