Picture this. Bruce and I are having much-needed date night. I have a three course meal planned and am very excited about pampering my wonderful husband for the night.
Somehow I managed to ruin not one, not two, but ALL THREE COURSES of the meal. I stood crying in the kitchen until Bruce calmly led me into the living room, grabbed his car keys and came home with fried chicken from Publix.
Not exactly how I wanted our celebration to go.
From that day forward, I decided I needed to take a new approach in the kitchen. I was going to try simple recipes that I got from people that I trusted. I was going to pay attention to what Bruce and I liked and learn how adapt things to our favorite tastes.
I am a work in progress in the kitchen. There are still days when I eat something and think, “Hmm, that didn’t work.” But I am loving the learning process and feel insanely fortunate that I married a man who likes to learn with me. Cooking is a lot more fun when you are attempting it with someone!
